We are a collection of award winning designers, writers, film makers, developers and marketing strategists.

We work with companies both large and small, from start ups to global multinationals providing a full service to fit your budget.

We specialise in developing result focused communication strategies. This may be a behavioral change campaign for health and safety in the construction industry, an exploration into AR and VR for an enhanced engagement experience or rebrand for a major Telco including all advertising and collateral development.

If you’d really like to know what we do, give us a call and see if we’re the right fit for you. We offer a one hour free consultation on your communication needs, but we do like to talk so expect it to be more like two!

Say Hello and book a consult

We often get asked the same questions so we’ve compiled a Q&A section to help, if you can’t find what your looking for or have a different question you’d like to ask, please drop us a line and get in touch, we’re a friendly bunch.

Q&A

  • How much do you charge?

We charge an hourly rate of $120, but we often negotiate a flat rate for a lot of our clients as we tend to discourage clock watching. We will always do our best to accommodate whatever budget you have and offer a couple of basic packages for start up's that include brand development and website. We know how hard everyone works to earn their money, so we take it extremely seriously when someone spends theirs with us.

  • What is brand strategy?

A brand strategy is an ongoing plan for the development of your company inside and out. A well-defined brand affects all aspects of a company’s communication, tone of voice, type of language, choice of uniform. It seeks to answer the questions; what are you hoping to achieve by launching this brand? How do you want the market to see you? How does your brand reflect the needs of your market? What are you offering them? A good brand strategy is about narrowing the gap between what you have to offer and what your customers want. Your brand should contain the basics; a solid and well researched positioning statement - who are you? and your value proposition - what have you got to offer? Your brand should provide the litmus test that every marketing activity should be measured against. Think about a spiders web, the centre is your core directive, the brand is the web built around this. If you can't place your marketing on the web and track it back to your directive, then it has no place being there.

  • What’s the difference between a logo and a brand?

A logo is a mark that should represent your brand, it sits at the apex of everything you do. Ultimately the logo should reflect something of your personality and with the help of a tag line should help articulate what your point of difference is; Vonex - always on.

Your brand is everything else. It's the foundation to which you build your communication on. You can have a poorly designed logo with a great brand, but you can't have a great logo with a bad brand.

  • How long does it usually take?

It's the same time to calculate the length of a piece of string. There's no set answer to this as every client is different. However, we recommend two to three weeks to build a brand including research, value proposition and positioning statement, and three to four weeks for a basic website, including copy and content creation. We always provide an accurate schedule with milestones set in place so we can inform you every step of the way, and if anything changes, we let you know straight away.

  • What do I have to do?

Pick up the phone. We can do the rest. We're in the business of problem-solving, we work through three prisms of brand development; insight, research, and creative excellence. I don't know how to make shoes, so we don't expect our clients to write a brief. If you can that's great; we love collaborating, if you can't, don't worry, we work backward from the end result. What do you want to achieve? Increase profits, deliver a message, communicate a change of service? Whatever it is we can help you with it.

  • Do we have to supply everything for a new website?

Not unless you want to. We work with our clients making sure they get the best content that will help them. Because we produce animations, films, and work with some of the best photographers in Brisbane, we can always supply content that sets you apart from the competition. We often write copy as we go along; this helps us think about how we're matching design to message. We always make sure you leave with a website you're happy with but one that you can manage yourself and update when and as you need to.

  • Do you offer an advertising service?

Yes we do, but we don't call ourselves an advertising agency, we prefer the term; communication. This isn't because we see advertising as a dirty word, far from, it's because the industry has changed so much that we're more about providing an authentic story that grabs your attention. We tend to make engaging content that's message specific, think story telling rather than aspirational models. We like to keep things current and work with software developers and technologists so that we're communicating in the right way without sacrificing the creative.

  • Do you do Social Media?

Social media is about content; engaging, informative, quirky, entertaining and highly shareable, if it's not it won't be seen. We canalways run your social media for you, but we recommend you do that yourself, we'll provide the strategy, framework and content to help set you up, then your good to go.

  • If we do a training video, do we write the script?

Not unless you want to. We've produced quite a few corporate videos in our time, from fully scripted training films to short corporate promotional pieces. For a lot of our training material, we work with you, but we also do our own research and call on help of a few psychologists we know.

  • If we don’t want to use you, can you recommend someone?

Well, that would be a bit cheeky, but to be honest... yeah we would. Sometimes we know we're not the right fit for a company and we're big enough to know that, so if we can't do what you want or you don't like the way we do things, we don't get offended, we know a lot of people and companies. We're always happy to help out where we can, even if that means we don't get to know you.

  • What’s your favourite colour?

We don't have one, because colours mean different things to different people, and while we assign meaning to colour, so we can make it say what we like; green = money, but it can also mean, different things; green = the environment and go!? However, there is a pre-existing visual language that people already know. Our favourite colour is whatever works for the right message!

  • Do you like cheese?

Actually, yes, we do, we also like pickles and olives as well. Our aim is to develop a network of like-minded people who can help and work with each other, and when that happens, we'll throw a wine and cheese party, and if you're reading this, then my guess is we might see you there.
